What Really Did Happen in the Future?

When the meteor first crashed and Ness went to investigate, a fly-like creature appeared and spoke to Ness. It said its name was Buzz Buzz and that it had come from 10 years into the future. Buzz Buzz explained that in the future, it was a dark time and a creature named Gigyas had taken over the world.

It was Buzz Buzz's duty to change history and help Ness defeat Gigyas in the past. Altering the grim future of Eagleland and beyond.

That brings me to my first series of questions. What was happening in the future? Why was Gigyas ruler of the world? What had happened to Ness and his friends? Did they even exist? And just where did Buzz Buzz come from?

Buzz Buzz continues to tell Ness about the Apple of Enlightenment and how it predicted that three boys and one girl would destroy the ultimate evil.
So who or what was really the Apple of Enlightenment?

As Buzz Buzz and Ness finish off Starman Jr., Buzz Buzz explains that Gigyas had control of animals, people, and inanimate objects.

Where was Gigyas at that time? When was Giyas to be exact? Was he controlling them from the future?

When Ness and his friends use the phase distorter to go to the point in time to fight Gigyas, they end up in limbo and are greeted by Dr. Andonuts and Apple Kid. The two geniouses explain that Gigyas was somewhere in the past and that Ness and his friends must use the new and improved Phase Distorter.

Gigyas was in the past? No way! Didn't Buzz Buzz say he had come from the future? See, Nintendo and Ape didn't think of this when they wrote the story, did they?
